GLOSSARY 
Contextual area:  This area contains information that depends on the current context. The title of the current Drawing is displayed in this area. By using 4 options, it is possible to either display :
  • the Drawing Pictures, the Parts List or, the Parts Usage for the Mechanical Drawing Number,
  • the Drawing Pictures, the Parts List, or the Tool Equipment Index (TEI) for the Tool Equipment Drawing Number,
  • or the Drawing Pictures or the Parts List for the Repair Drawing Number .
  • Batch: 

    You can send a request to receive a set of documents after a certain delay.
    Note: A storage buffer (server) must be put in place to receive this information.

    Date Stamp:  When you print a Drawing Picture with the “Print Drawing Set” option in the generic actions area, the current date are automatically added on the paper copy.
    Display area:  This area displays data. The data may be a Drawing Picture, a Parts List , a Parts Usage, a TEI, a list of drawing numbers matching a query and so on.
    DNI Abbreviation of Drawing Numerical Index. The Drawing Numerical Index is a listing per customer and aircraft version which gives the list of all the used drawing references and some related information.
    Drawing pictures:  Drawing pictures contain pictorial representations of an aircraft or part of it. Drawing pictures are composed of one or several sheets. A sheet may be split in different frames.
    Drawing sheet picture:  A sheet picture ensures, where applicable, a pictorial representation of the aircraft or part of it.
    Drawing Set:  For the Mechanical family, a Drawing Set consists of Drawing Pictures, a Parts List and a Parts Usage. For the Tool family, a Drawing Set consists of Drawing Pictures a Parts List and a TEI. For the Repair family, a Drawing set consits of Drawing pictures and a Parts List.
    Drawing History:  It is a list of all the items composing the Drawing Set (Parts List, Parts Usage, Drawing Pictures for the mechanical drawing history, Parts List, TEI, Drawing Pictures for the tool history and Parts List and Drawing pictures for the repair drawing history). Furthermore, it displays the history of Drawing Pictures. For each drawing issue, the list of all sheets and issues are displayed.
    Frame Generally picture sheets larger than A0 are split in overlapping frames, each one of A0 size.
    Generic actions area:  This area is composed of a set of options (button bar) that provides actions as "Print Drawing Set", "Download" and so on.
    JPG:  Join Picture Expert Group format used for color graphic pictures.
    Link: A link is a zone of a document where you can click on. When you move the “mouse indicator” on it, a “small hand icon” is displayed. If you click on it, additive information is displayed (part of the current document or Navigation in the Drawing Hierarchy). Refer to “To navigate through the Drawing Hierarchy” or TEI for more details.
    Main option:  This option allows you to enter a Drawing Reference and to view Drawing pictures, the Parts List, the Parts Usage or the TEI, according to the family.
    MSN:  Abbreviation of Manufacturer's Serial Number. It is the manufacturer’s serial number of the aircraft, in a Program.
    Next Higher Assembly:  Considering a Part Number, each assembly part using it is called NHA (Next Higher Assembly). In general, a part is mounted in several NHA in different sections of an aircraft. Refer to Parts Usage examples. 
    Parts List:  A Parts List describes the detail parts called up on a drawing picture. Its sheet one is the master document that controls and records the number of sheets. Refer to Parts List examples.
    Part Number:  Reference of a Part or of an assembly part.
    Parts Usage:  The Parts Usage provides the Next Higher Assemblies with associated Customer effectivities.
    PDF:  Abbreviation of Portable Document Format. It is a format used to code the color Drawing Pictures as well as text document.
    Plug in:  This is a viewer software installed on your computer. It allows you to display specific types of documents (such as TIFF or PDF documents) in an Internet browser window. For information, Drawing pictures are coded in TIFF V5.0 compliant ATA2100. Parts List and Parts Usage are PDF documents displayed with Acrobat Reader plug in.
    Query list option:  This option allows to perform a search.
    Reference:  It is a Drawing Number or a Part Number.
    RFI:  Abbreviation of Request For Information. It is a request that you can send to Airbus. You can display the Airbus answers thanks to the “RFI status” option. 
    Tool Equipment Index The TEI is composed of two parts. The TEI Part one provides the list of drawing describing a Part Number with associated Customer effectivities. The TEI Part two provides a list of Part Numbers described by a Drawing Number with associated Customer effectivities.
    TIF:  Abbreviation of Tag Image File Format. It is a graphical language used to code the Drawing Pictures. A TIF viewer has to be installed on your PC to display such TIF documents.
    Tree area This area displays the "session's history" in terms of visited locations. If you navigate through the Drawing Hierarchy, this tree reflects a part of it, in regard to the documents searched for.
    Tuning This option allows to commute to Local or Server mode. It is accessible from the Tree View
